Agreement to These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Author Cooper, including the main website, authentication pages, digital library, book and subscription checkout flows, reviews, contact forms, and merchandise store.

By visiting the site, creating an account, making a purchase, submitting content, or using any Author Cooper feature, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who May Use Author Cooper

You must be able to form a binding agreement or have permission from a parent or guardian. If you use Author Cooper on behalf of another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account access secure, and use the service only for lawful purposes.

Accounts and Magic-Link Sign-In

Author Cooper uses email-based magic links for sign-in. You are responsible for access to the email address connected to your account and for activity that happens through your authenticated session.

We may suspend, restrict, or refuse access if we believe an account is being misused, creates security risk, violates these terms, or is required to be restricted by law.

Digital Books, Libraries, and Subscriptions

• Digital purchases grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable license to access the purchased content through Author Cooper or connected delivery services where available.
• You may not resell, share, upload, scrape, redistribute, or make digital content available to others unless we give written permission.
• Subscription-style releases may be released in chapters, editions, or installments. Release timing, format, pricing, and availability may change as the project evolves.
• We may correct catalog errors, remove unavailable items, update metadata, change pricing before purchase, and maintain the library system as needed.

Merchandise Store and Physical Products

The merchandise store sells physical products such as apparel, accessories, prints, and similar items, sometimes tied to a book, series, or subscription-series theme. Product images, colors, sizes, and descriptions are provided to help you choose, but minor variations may occur.

The cart is client-side and resyncs with the server for current price, stock, sellability, and product details. Items are not reserved until checkout begins, and availability may change before payment is complete.

Orders, Payment, and Checkout

• Prices, discounts, shipping charges, and taxes, if applicable, are shown during checkout before you submit payment.
• Payment checkout is hosted by Stripe or another configured payment provider. A successful checkout session does not complete an order until payment is confirmed.
• Digital orders may be fulfilled automatically after payment confirmation. Physical orders require shipping and fulfillment steps after payment.
• A failed, expired, abandoned, or canceled checkout may leave an order pending or require you to start a new checkout attempt.
• We may cancel or refuse orders affected by fraud, abuse, inventory errors, pricing mistakes, address problems, payment issues, or legal restrictions.

Shipping and Fulfillment

Shipping rates and address validation may be provided by ShipStation or similar providers. A shipping quote can expire, and a checkout may require a fresh quote if the address, selected items, rate, or timing changes.

Delivery estimates are estimates only. Author Cooper is not responsible for carrier delays, customs delays, incorrect addresses, or events outside our reasonable control, but we will use reasonable efforts to help resolve shipping issues.

Gifts

Some purchases may be marked as gifts. Digital gifts may require recipient details so library access can be granted after payment. Physical merchandise gifts may use shipping details and optional gift messages for fulfillment.

You confirm that you have permission to provide a gift recipient's information and that your gift message will not violate these terms or the rights of others.

Refunds, Returns, and Cancellations

Refund, return, and cancellation handling should follow the policy shown at checkout or communicated by Author Cooper support. Digital content may be non-refundable once access is granted, except where required by law or where we choose to make an exception.

Physical-product return eligibility may depend on item condition, customization, delivery status, and carrier or fulfillment constraints. This section should be finalized with counsel and the operating team before launch.

Reviews and User Content

• You are responsible for reviews, comments, messages, ratings, gift messages, and other content you submit.
• You grant Author Cooper a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, edit for formatting, moderate, and use submitted content to operate and promote the service.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, abusive, spammy, private, or harmful to others.
• We may moderate, publish, unpublish, edit formatting, or remove content at our discretion.

Acceptable Use

• Do not interfere with the service, bypass access controls, probe security, scrape content, overload APIs, or misuse checkout, review, gift, contact, or authentication features.
• Do not impersonate others, submit false information, violate intellectual-property rights, or use Author Cooper for unlawful activity.
• Do not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the site, catalog, artwork, writing, code, or digital content except as allowed by these terms or by law.

Intellectual Property

Author Cooper and its licensors own the site, branding, text, artwork, catalog materials, software, digital books, subscription content, product designs, and related intellectual property. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you, all rights are reserved.

Third-Party Services

Author Cooper may link to or rely on third-party services such as payment processors, shipping providers, email providers, hosting providers, analytics tools, and ebook-delivery services. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, and their own terms and policies may apply.

Disclaimers

Author Cooper is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, available in every location, compatible with every device, or free from data loss.

Catalog availability, product availability, pricing, release schedules, shipping rates, and delivery timelines may change.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Author Cooper will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or service interruption.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid Author Cooper for the transaction giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars if no transaction is involved.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Author Cooper harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of the service, violation of these terms, submitted content, or violation of another person's rights.

Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update Author Cooper and these terms over time. Updated terms will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms assume United States law applies, with the specific state and venue to be confirmed before launch. This section should be completed by counsel based on the owner's legal entity, location, and customer strategy.
